Carol helped pull me out of the depths of depression 26 years ago when I was mourning the loss of my best friend (also a teacher at SHS) by inviting me to join her and others in her room at lunch. Eventually, we became known as the East End Lunch Bunch. Over the years, despite my vow to myself that I wouldn't let myself have a "best" friend again, I came to think of Carol that way, even though I knew that other friends she had or her sister were probably her best friend. After all, EVERYONE loved Carol! She helped me through the sudden, horrible diagnosis of incurable cancer in my husband and through his short 3 1/2 month life til he died. Carol helped me as best she could through the terrible depression that set in for years (way longer than most people knew), helped me find a support group, and just generally talked me through tough times, including taking caring of my Mama stricken with Alzheimer's and then after her death. Carol was a great listener and comfort and gave wonderful advice. She always said she was "an old soul." Maybe that's one reason I always looked up to her, even though she was younger than me. She was one of the smartest people I ever knew, but she never gave that impression. I will forever miss her smile, her genuineness, her kindness, and her love for her family, friends, and work. I love you, Carol. Rest in peace, my dear friend.❤

My thoughts and prayers are with the many that this amazing woman touched throughout her life. She genuinely loved teaching and history and it made her exceptional at leading others to find their love. You will be greatly missed.

Ms. Williams is the reason I became a history teacher. She was an incredible teacher who made history lively and interesting. I was fortunate to be able to student teach at Southaven after being her student and got to be her colleague. I am so glad I got to speak to her in recent years and let her know what a tremendous impact on my life and career. You will be missed sweet lady!

I've heard of the loss of your loved one. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God's true thoughts are of peace for us, not pain, may reflection on his goodness comfort you and your family.

I will miss you so much dear friend❤ Your life has impacted so many students and teachers at SHS. I will always cherish our time here together on this earth, and look forward to seeing you again one day. Rest, sweet rest, in the arms of Jesus.

You have fought a good fight, You have finished your course, You have kept the faith.

There is laid up for you a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give you on that day...
