Carolyn Moncrief, 72, went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 surrounded by her family in Wakefield, MS. Carolyn was born on July 11, 1947 to the late Morris and Pauline Yancey. She loved anything to do with gardening, and had a passion for canning vegetables. Carolyn was a “mama” to many and her greatest joys were taking care of any and all of the neighborhood children. Her loving heart, caring soul, and contagious smile will be missed dearly. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Yancey. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Wyatte Moncrief; a son, Justin Moncrief and three siblings, Barbara Yancey, Ray Yancey, and Connie Bell. She also leaves behind two faithful companions, Bella & Beauty. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10:00 am at Mustard Seed Ministries, 1017 Wakefield Rd. Wakefield, MS. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Cemetery.
