Charles Thomas Kirkland, 65 , of Madison, AL died Tuesday at Huntsville Hospital. Charles was retired from Dept. of Defense after 36 years of civilian service. His hobbies included the Boy Scouts of America, in which he served a scout master of Troop 26 of the Transatlantic Council in Germany for many years, gardening, University of Alabama football, traveling, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Patricia Kirkland of 42 years, daughter Jenna Wright of Madison, AL; Daughter Karen Kirkland of Arlington, TN; son Timothy Kirkland of Homestead, FL; brother Eugene Kirkland of Raleigh, NC; and a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, November 12th at 11 am at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association.
