Clarence O. Pounders

Clarence O. Pounders, 82, of Olive Branch, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010, at his daughter’s home. The family will receive friends from 508 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, and funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, all at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Born in the Cedarview Community, Clarence was a lifelong resident of DeSoto County, MS. He served in the U.S. Army and then worked for Memphis Sash and Door Company for 35 years, retiring in 1989. He was a lifelong member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Katherine Louise Pounders; 2 daughters, Anita Baker (Leslie) and Patty Pounders Bunting (Brian); his son, Ricky Pounders; his sister, Bobbie Sue King; 4 grandchildren, Brandy Pilkington, Brandon Pounders, Eric Stone, and Jessica Bunting; and one great granddaughter, Natalie Pounders. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church or A and E Hospice.
