Coren Lee Parker, 48, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2022. She was born to Steve and Ramona Parker in Memphis, TN on May 9, 1974. While on a band scholarship, Corey graduated with a bachelor's degree from Mississippi University for Women in Psychology. She was an Elementary Teacher at Kate Bond Elementary in Shelby County Schools. Corey’s greatest passions were family, music, and traveling. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews that she referred to as “her babies.” Corey was a member at Gracewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Steve Parker. Corey leaves behind her mother, Ramona Parker; three sisters, Mandie Gerard, Mary Bruce, and Katherine Parker, and her second family: Zelle and Sammy Lee, Amanda, Johnathan, and Evan. She also leaves behind nine nieces and nephews: Garett Wade Price, Abbie Bruce, Shelby Hicks, Grace Gerard, Sarah Gerard, Colin Gerard, Nathan Gerard, Anna LeMay, Jacob Emanuel, and two more on the way. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm at Gracewood Baptist Church, 8551 Getwell Rd. Southaven, MS 38671.The family request that memorial contributions be made to UT Foundation “Cancer Program Support Fund” 62 S. Dunlap Memphis, TN 38163.
