He was born to William “Billy” and Juanita Ennis, January 28, 1955, in Memphis, TN. David attended Sheffield High school and began his career with Federal Express in January of 1974 where he worked until his passing.
David was a man with a heart of gold who selflessly devoted much of his life to taking care of his mother and his kids. He couldn’t have been more proud to watch his daughter Brittany get married last year and always looked forward to Melissa and the grandkids visits from out of town. He was a simple man known for his love of the water, a good card game and cookouts. He loved to tell stories of the memorable times that he and Jackie Hankins had to anyone who would listen. He was a dedicated Memphis Tigers and Grizzlies basketball fan and watched every game with his son and best friend Chase or as he affectionately called him “Scoot.” He partied like a rock star, loved unconditionally and always lived for the moment.
David is survived by his mother Juanita Ennis of Olive Branch, MS; his brother and his wife Richard and Cathy Ennis of Millington, TN; his three children: Melissa and her husband Keith Haynes of Warrenton, VA; Chase Ennis of Olive Branch; MS and Brittany and her husband Brian Terry of Cabot, AR; He is also survived by his grandchildren Carson, Cole and Cannon.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
A viewing will be held Sunday March 30, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Monday at the same location
