

David Holland, 64, of Hernando, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 7, at Life Fellowship Church, 7790 Davidson Road in Olive Branch. The family will also receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m., at Snowdown Church of Christ, 39 County Road 1411 outside Booneville, MS. Interment will follow in the Snowdown Cemetery. David was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War. David worked as a Deputy with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department for more than 20 years, where he was instrumental in the creation of DeSoto County Crimestoppers and served as the Coordinator for many years. He was also active as a Mason and Shriner. David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Holland; three sons, Patrick (Candace) Holland, Larry (Portia) Holland, and Barry (Ashley) Holland; six grandchildren, Paige, Crista, Chase, Kade, Kohen, and Garrett; two sisters, Mary Francis McCoy and Cathy Alexander; and two brothers, Doyle Holland and Dolan McCoy.
