She was born on May 24, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee to Creighton and Mary.
Dolores worked for many years as a telephone operator with several cab and delivery companies, and if you knew her, you knew she could talk to just about anybody. She had a story for every occasion, like the time she met Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, or when Jerry Reed gave her a piece of gum at the airport. From that day on, she only chewed Doublemint.
She loved crocheting and was always happy to make you a blanket, all you had to do was ask. She never missed a Hallmark Christmas movie and had a special place in her heart for home-cooked meals, especially when someone else was cooking them.
But more than anything, Dolores loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her whole world. She lit up every time they were around.
Dolores had a big heart, a quick wit, and a way of making everyone feel at home. She’ll be missed more than words can say.
Dolores was preceded in death by her father, Creighton Torrey, Sr.; her mother, Mary Torrey Forbes; her stepfather, Stanley Forbes; her sister, Dawn Lester; her son-in-law, Richard Fiorino; her sister, Patricia Spence, and her son of heart, Ronnie Bertram.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Anne-Marie Fiorino, and Brandi Bertram (Kenneth); two siblings, Gene Torrey, and Mary Beth Estrada (Armando); daughter of heart, Cheryl "Cheech" Bertram, and her best friend, Mam Pam. Dolores also leaves behind five grandchildren: Jessa Grant, Jacob Bertram (Diana), Raeann Marrow, Bethany Bertram (Jakobe Johnson), Cade Fiorino, and six great-grandchildren: Aiden Bertram, Charlotte Bertram, Lydia Marin, Scarlette Bertram, Violette Bertram, and Ace Johnson.
A funeral service will occur on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
