She took care of me when I needed a sitter upon moving to Southaven. My mother bought our home from her and we lived there for years.  I will never forget the inspiration she gave me while watching her drive a volkswagon. She taught me how to play canasta as well. She is one in a million and her daughter Tonya is the same way. People like them are a blessing even though they are just being themselves. I am late saying this but it is in my heart to say it . I will miss and think of her always.

Tony and Ray, I have known your mom for 55+ years.  Having grown up together, she was the best friend a person could have. She was the most caring and loving person I have ever know.  A person was just better for knowing her.  Her dedication to her family was endless.  May God give you comfort and peace at this time.

My heart breaks to hear of the loss of your mother.  My most vivid teenage memories involve time spent with your mother and enjoying the kindness and friendship of her.  The unselfishness of her and the ability to be a true friend to me will stay with me forever.  She gave of herself as a friend for a lifetime.  I can only say to you in this deep dark hour to take care of yourselves and know that your mother touched many many hearts with her ability to be a true friend. Tonya and Ray, I went to school at Horn Lake with your mom and we had stayed in touch through the years.  She was always so upbeat and outgoing.  She never let her handicap stop her from doing what she set out to do and I always admired her for that.  She really has been an inspiration to me. I know there will be a great void in your lives, but try to focus on the good times, and I pray that God will give you peace in your hearts.

I went to school with your mom at South Side and Horn Lake.  She was the sweetest friend anyone could every want.  She always had a smile and so sincere, I can truly say she was the "BEST."  I know you will miss your mom and I am so sorry for your loss.

Tonya and Ray I feel like i have known you my entire life as we grew up together. I have so many memories at your house where i spent much of my childhood. I loved your mother as most people did that had the opportunity to meet her. I remember how much fun she was and how we would play all day long swimming at the old house, jumping on the trampoline and riding your 4wheeler and then she would fix us something good to eat so we could go at it again. I remember her taking us to Nashville and we had so much fun with her. Ms Doris was a very special person. 
Tonya i know this is the toughest time in your life and no words can change that. I cannot imagine what you must be going through. I just want you to know I am here and always will be. My heart aches for you and your family and what you have to go through. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you Tonya Mae.

Ray and Tonya ya'll are my family and I love you both dearly. I loved Mama Doris very much. I have so many fond memories of the times I spent at ya'll's house. I'm here if and when you need me.

Doris was my best frend for 59 years. She was always there for me through the good times as well as the bad times in my life when I needed her most.  I will miss her greatly.  I feel as though I have lost a sister - but her mission in life and the reason God sent her to us has been completed and she has been called home. I will feel this loss forever.
