Doris Ross Marr of Olive Branch, MS passed away peacefully with family at her side on October 27, 2022. She was born January of 1932 in a log cabin in rural Desoto County. She was a lifelong resident of Olive Branch. She graduated from cosmetology school and worked at that a short while but found her true work she loved at Sears Roebuck & Co. Crosstown where she worked her whole career and made many lifelong friends. Mrs. Marr went to Olive Branch High School where her sweetheart quickly became Robert “Bob” Marr. They were married after he returned from the Air Force and married in 1957. They resided here in old town Olive Branch their whole life until his passing in 2015. Mrs. Marr enjoyed reading and most of all cooking. Most people in Olive Branch have enjoyed her fabulous meals and cakes! Her kitchen skills were legendary! She was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star, taught Sunday school at First Baptist Olive Branch. She was the perfect wife and mother. She put God first and family right behind that always sacrificing for the uplifting of others. She has left a legacy of strong love and devotion of family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert H Marr. She leaves behind their only child, Robin Marr Ogden (Glen), two grandchildren, Joshua Ogden (Desi) and Stacy Ogden Day. She also leaves behind four great granddaughters Haleigh Ogden, Savannah Ogden, Alyssa Ogden, and Caroline Day and one great grandson Sawyer Day. She also leaves her brother, Tony A. Ross and sister in law Joyce Ross of Cedarview Ms, and a sister in law, Julia Miller (Earl) of Cordova, Tn. A visitation for Mrs. Marr will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum Street, Olive Branch, Mississippi 38654. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 6875 Cockrum Street, Olive Branch, Mississippi 38654. A committal service will occur Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Blocker Cemetery, Blocker Road, Olive Branch, Mississippi 38654.
