Eleanor graduated from Tech High School with the Class of 1954 and later retired from the Internal Revenue Service. Her love of gardening was evident to everyone who visited her home, but Eleanor’s first love was her family. She was a dedicated member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Frank G. Gavrock, Sr., and her son, Frank G. Gavrock, Jr.
She is survived by four children: Teresa Gavrock Hines (Haywood), Gail Gavrock (Debbie), Russell Gavrock, Bobby Gavrock (Jessica); her siblings: Ferguson Pike, Claude Pike, Don Pike, Arthur “Bubba” Pike, Anna Belle Stotts, Edna Cates, Donna Hartley, Dorthy Shipman, and Carolyn Dunn. Eleanor was known as Nanny to her 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was also Aunt Eleanor to her many nieces, and nephews.
A funeral will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Burial will follow at Barton Cemetery in Barton, MS.
