Though I missed out on tracking down and visiting Dr. Bass, I've always remembered him.  Reverend Bass officiated at my wedding in 1986 in Triangle, Virginia, and my wife and I are still in love and together.  Reverend Bass' Blessing of our hands in marriage has sustained us and we are truly thankful to God for sending him our way. May God, in the Holy Name of Jesus, continue to Bless the Bass family today and always.

We were so honored to have Floyd and Jean (our favorite Utah neighbors) come to Arizona to be a part of our daughter Teri's wedding.  Floyd officiated the ceremony and Jean sang a beautiful song.  I will be forever grateful to them for making the trip out from Florida and reuniting with our Utah gang

Pastor Bass was my Pastor for 17 years  at Metropolitan Missionary  Baptist  Church in Cocoa ,  Florida.


I  respect Pastor Bass as truly a man of God. He was a teacher and a true example  of leadership. He was very infectious if you met him you would k now him for life. He was a lover of people and  a true follow of Christ.  You touch a lot  people lives and for me  you taught me what real leadership  means.  To the Bass family my heartfelt sorrows goes out to you’ll along with my prayers.  Peace and rest.

Dear Sister Bass and Family we the Nelson’s send our sincere condolence to you and family.
We will always remember our time of worship and fellowship together as Rev. Bass pastored our church the Jericho Baptist Church, in Ruther Glen, VA. 

We were always blessed by the preaching of the word of God by Rev. Bass and I will always remember what I think was his favorite sermon; it was certainly mine and that sermon was “God’s Word Is the Bottom line”

Many times we had the pleasure of having you and your family in our home for dinner after service. It was always a time of love and joy as we talk about the goodness of God.

So family we admonish you to hold on to God’s unchanging hand, knowing that all who die in the Lord are at home with Him and that we will meet again in His Kingdom where the family circle will never again be broken. We will rejoice with Floyd and each other around “His” God’s throne throughout eternity. So hold on to Jesus and remember the words of the hymnologist that says “when we’ve been there ten thousand years bright shining as the sun, we’ll have no less days to sing His praise that when we first begun".

Good morning. My heart is heavy after hearing the news on Monday, Aug. 3. I am the Secretary of the Central Brevard County Branch of the NAACP, Cocoa, Florida and was the secretary when I met Rev. Bass and his wife back in 2000. He was the pastor of a church in Cocoa, Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. He was also the Religious Affairs Chair for the organization the NAACP. We were sadden when he told us he was leaving and moving to Mississippi, but we rejoice in his moving for his sake.  I am happy to have known him for 5 years. I will never forget all the wonderful conversations, laughter, the joking, just good fellowship that we shared at each other's home in California. We shared stories of raising our children together. But most of all, how we worshipped and praised God together. I remember how we sit and listen as you expounded on the word of God. My heart rejoiced. You ,Floyd Junebug Bass, will never be forgotten and will always be loved by myself and my family. My heart is saddened but I rejoice in knowing that you ran the race. You fought a good fight.
