Gary Wayne Brown, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Baptist DeSoto Rehab in Southaven, MS. He was born on January 7, 1951 to the late Carl Lamar and Alma Dell Brown in Memphis, TN. Gary is a Veteran of the Unites States Navy and awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Olive Branch. Gary’s favorite pastime was sitting in his recliner watching NASCAR or Wrestling. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Lamar and Alma Dell Brown. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Cook Brown; two children, Kelly Rhae Mann (Austin), Keefe Ian Brown (Stephanie Fleming), and his sister, Cindy Barnes (Victor). He also leaves behind his two granddaughters, Katie Brown and Victoria Mann. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at First Baptist Church of Olive Branch from 11:30 am -12:30 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 with a memorial service to begin at 12:30 pm. A committal service will follow at West TN Veterans Cemetery where military funeral honors will be rendered. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Olive Branch Building Fund.
