Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Echols Jacobs; and his nephew, Chris Blankenship.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Riley (Bill); son, Stephen Jacobs (Debbie); grandchildren: Cecily Turkett (Jeremy), Holly Riley (Ronnie Plunk), Austin Jacobs (Christine), and Alexandra Feagin (Hunter); great-grandchildren: Travis Boyles, Eloise Turkett, Ronnie Plunk III, and one on the way, Olivia Plunk; sisters-in-law, Sheila Patel (BK) and Glenda Tilley; nephews: Brandon Blankenship, Jon Tilley, and Stephen Tilley; nieces, Erin Tilley and Cheri Caison; and cousin, John Cobb (Joan).
Mr. Jacobs is a graduate of the University of Alabama where he majored in electrical engineering. He worked for International Paper for 29 years until his retirement in 2002. In his free time, he enjoyed deer hunting, painting, cooking, and watching Alabama Crimson Tide Football. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Olive Branch Church of Christ where he served as an elder for many years.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Olive Branch Church of Christ on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:30 until 11:00 am with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 am. A committal service will be held at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
