George Orfans, 81, of Southaven, passed away January 28, 2014 in Memphis. Mr. Orfans was retired from TVA and was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Orfans was also a U.S. Army veteran and belonged to the Fossil Fuel Porkers BBQ Team. He is survived by his loving wife, JoAn Orfans, one daughter, Beverly Hooten (Steve) and one son, Robbie Orfans (Lori). He is also survived by one sister, Evangulia Gordon and one brother, Steve Orfans. Mr. Orfans also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Brandi Tripp, Nicholas Hooten, Justin Orfans, and McKenzie Orfans as well as his great-grandchildren: Addison and Anna Kate Tripp, Mattie Orfans, and Emma Hooten. There will be a graveside service at 2pm on Thursday January 30, 2014 at Autumn Woods Cemetery in Olive Branch. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church 8245 Getwell Rd., Southaven, MS 38671.
