Gerald Robert Cox, 79, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at North Delta Hospice in Southaven, MS. Mr. Gerald was a native of Marion, Iowa where he was inducted into the Marion High School Hall of Fame for football and basketball. His favorite hobbies were to hunt, fish, sing and play guitar. Mr. Gerald worked as a Lineman at Iowa Electric Light & Power and he later went into Electrical Sales. He and his wife relocated to Olive Branch where they owned Cox’s Package Store. Survivors include his wife, JoEllen Cox; a daughter, Angela Dowell (Keith); three sons, Brett Cox (Debbie), William Cox (Tana), and Matthew Cox (Robin); he also leaves behind nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Family will receive guests Saturday, December 17, 2016, from 1:00-2:00 pm with a Memorial Services to follow at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
