Phil dedicated his entire life to the craft of carpentry and retired from Metro Construction. After laborious days on the job, he found solace in the simple pleasure of unwinding with a cold drink at home. Phil's heart belonged to the outdoors, where his passion for gardening flourished. His green thumb nurtured a variety of produce, including tomatoes, eggplants, okra, and squash. Yet, it was his cherished muscadine wine vine that held a special place in his heart. Phil nurtured it with care, but would take it to his daughter-in-law, Neili to make jelly. Beyond his greenery, Phil's cooking talents shone bright, as evidenced by his legendary jambalaya. He was a cherished father, paw, brother, and friend whose absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Phil's favorite saying, "it's just one of those things," served as a reminder of his calm acceptance and unwavering strength in the face of life's challenge.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrta Reece Burgess. Phil leaves behind his son, Phillip Reeder (Neili); brother, Larry Reeder (Cathy); three grandchildren, Jacob Reeder, Mikayla Reeder, Landen Reeder, and one great grandson, Easton Alexander.
