Helen C. Smart, 67, of Coldwater, MS went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Mrs. Smart was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Darnell; mother, Vera Farrow Darnell; and sister, Maxine Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Derrel Smart; son, Kevin W. Smart(Mildred); grandchildren: Kevin J. Smart(Jamie), Samuel W. Smart(Amber), Brittany N. Smart, and Matthew B. Smart; great-grandchildren: Zoe Smart, Sebastian Smart, and one on the way; and brothers: Lucius “Buddy” Darnell, Mack Darnell, and James Ray Darnell. Mrs. Smart was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Wyatt Baptist Church. She spent her life dedicated to her family as a homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed arranging flowers, quilting, and making and collecting various kinds of dolls. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 5-7 pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm, also at Brantley Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
