Joseph Herman Ray, 81, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2022. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Louise Ray; and his brother, Richard Ray. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Annette Murphy Ray; son, Barry Ray(Karen); daughter, Shelly Webster(Mickey Roland); grandchildren: Brandon Ray(Leah), Hailey McConnell(Garret), Harlie Barker(Jacob), Amanda Denton(Rob), Kenton Webster(Estefania), and Lindsey Ferrell(John); 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou Eames(Ray) and Lynn Glover(Jim); uncle, Perry Lane; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who he loved dearly. Herman was a devoted Christian man and a faithful member of Olive Branch Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for many years. He was the owner of Overhead Door Company of Memphis where he had been employed since 1961. In his free time, he enjoyed wood working, tending to his yard, and taking care of his home. He also collected and restored antique engines and tractors and was one of the founding members of the Mid-South Flywheel Association. Herman was a kind hearted and generous man who always had the sweetest smile on his face. He loved his family and one of his greatest joys in life was being “Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Olive Branch Church of Christ on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 9:30-11:00 am with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 am.
