J. A. “Jimmy” Doddridge, Jr., 96, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2022. Jimmy was born in Olive Branch on July 26, 1925 and has lived here his whole life. He graduated from Olive Branch High School in 1942. After high school, he joined the United States Army Air Corps and served our country during WWII. After his military service he became a dairy farmer in DeSoto County. He then went on to work for the United States Post Office as a transfer clerk for 30 plus years until his retirement. Jimmy was a believer in Jesus Christ and a life-long faithful member of Maples Memorial United Methodist Church where he served in many areas over the years. He was also an active member of the Lion’s Club of Olive Branch. He loved music, especially traditional hymns and he sang in the church choir for many years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Lee Doddridge. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 75 years, Josephine Hunt Doddridge; and his daughter, Martha Doddridge Vanderburg(Sidney). The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Maples Memorial United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 1-2 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Blocker Cemetery.
