

James H. Dunlap, 64, of Byhalia, passed away December 16, 2011, at Baptist Trinity Hospice House. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Monday, December 19, and funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., all at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. James was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army, and he was a truck driver with Empire Express in Memphis. He was a Shriner and member of the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge, and for 25 years he pulled the chains at Olive Branch High School football games. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin A. and Catherine N. Dunlap; and his brother-in-law, Charles W. Medlin. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sheila Dunlap; his son, Art Dunlap (Marcia); his daughter, Stephanie Stephensen (Kevin); four grandsons, Jay, Joey, BB, and Austin; his sister, Georgia Medlin; and several nieces and nephews.
