James Michael “Mike” Gullett, 83, of Olive Branch, MS went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2026. His family takes great comfort in knowing that he is in Heaven surrounded by many loved ones (both human and four-legged furry ones) who went on before him. Mike was born on September 4, 1943, in Carbondale, IL to the late James Gordon and Mildred McGuiness Gullett. He attended college at Ole Miss where he pursued a degree in business. Mike retired from Cave-In-Rock State Park in southern Illinois, where he served as site superintendent for 40 years. He was cool, quirky, loved cars, boats, music, history, and getting a rise out of people. Mike was a believer in Jesus Christ and a faithful member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He was very loved as a father, son, husband, Papa, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma Gullett; son, James “Jay” Gullett; daughter, Amy Gullett Adler (Matt); and grandson, David Adler. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Christ the King Lutheran Church on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 12-1 pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm.
