

James “Bo” Jenkins crossed over to join his wife of 69 years, Norma Jean Jenkins; son, Steve Jenkins; parents, Jack and Edith Jenkins; 6 brothers; 1 sister; and nephew, Kyle Jenkins. Bo is survived by his brother, Harold Jenkins (Mary Francis); son, Larry Jenkins (Vickie); son, Randy Jenkins (Dawn Gobel); 5 grandchildren: Kyle Jenkins, Bryan Jenkins, Carli Kazal, Zachary Jenkins, EJ Jenkins; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Bo was born on June 3,1933 in Sledge,MS. He married Jean McKinnon on November 5,1955. Together they traveled the globe as a military family living in Italy, Japan, Mississippi, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and Missouri. Bo was awarded 3 Air Force Commendation medals and 1 Meritorious Service medal during his career. After 23 years of service to his country, Bo went to work at the US Post Office for another 20 years. In his spare time, Bo completed his BA degree in Criminology, the first in his family to earn a college degree.
Bo was very close to his extended family, always helping out, encouraging, and offering words of advice. His hobbies included fishing, watching SEC football, especially the Ole Miss Rebels, reading novels, and making friends.
Visitation for Bo Jenkins will be held on Sunday, Jan 11 from 12:00-2:00pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Highway 305 North, Olive Branch, MS 38654. Brother Mike Weeks, Pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will deliver the eulogy and services following the visitation at 2:00pm also at Brantley Funeral Home. Following that, Bo will be buried beside his loving wife Jean and his son Steve at Pleasant Hill Community Cemetery, 5886 College Road, Olive Branch, MS 38654.
