

Jeffery Allen Whaley Sr. went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2025. He was born on August 11, 1961 in the small town of Hayti, Missouri. After spending his childhood in both Hayti and Memphis, Jeff joined the Navy in 1979. Following his time in the Navy, Jeff met his future wife Glenda Kay Gross in 1983, and they were married on August 18, 1984. Jeff became a stepfather to Melinda Kay Lawson at this time, and he and Kay had a son - Jeffery Allen Whaley Jr - on September 25, 1985. Jeff was a third-generation union electrical for 40-plus years and left behind a legacy of hard work and excellence in his field. Outside of work, Jeff enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, and making quilts, jewelry boxes and more for his loved ones. He was raised in church by his mother - Kathryn Anne Whaley - and faithfully served the Lord and countless people he encountered no matter what the task was. He had a rare gift of servanthood and undoubtedly made a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. Those that knew Jeff will remember him for a booming laugh that would fill a room and a deep-rooted loyalty that few possess. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch,MS 38654. Burial will follow on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd. Memphis, TN 38125.
