Jessie Mae Stewart-Watson, 89, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 11 am -1 pm. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. The visitation and service will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 4046 Pleasant Hill Rd., Olive Branch with Brantley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Jessie was born on May 19, 1932 in Capleville, TN. She was a kind and loving person. Many people affectionately called her “Aunt Jessie”. She was like a momma to many people. She had a variety of work experiences over the years. She was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Olive Branch, since 1954. In 1989 Jessie and Monty met on a dance floor and were in love from that day to this day. She will be missed by all those who loved and cherish her. Jessie is survived by her husband of 33 years, Monty Watson; her sister, Betty Wren(Lee); and many nieces and nephews. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, Wilkins and Mable Edna Goodwin; husband, David Stewart; sister, Mildred E. Goodwin Waldrop; and brothers: Archie Goodwin, Sr., W.C. Goodwin, and Lawrence Goodwin. In lieu of flowers, Jessie requested memorial donations be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
