

Jimmie was a man of strong Christian faith who lived his life with love, kindness, and devotion to others. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy before dedicating 30 years of service to the Memphis Fire Department. He retired as a Lieutenant, a role that reflected his leadership, integrity, and commitment to serving his community. His life of service was a reflection of his faith and his belief in helping others.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsie Stanhouse, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage; his parents, Edgar and Codean Stanhouse; and his siblings, Roger Stanhouse and Betty Carter.
Jimmie is survived by his siblings Don Stanhouse, Gary Stanhouse, and Paula Harrison; his son, Doyle Stanhouse; two grandchildren, Jessica Chenault(Marc) and Kim Pitcher(Bryan); and two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Chenault and Aiden Pierce.
A friend to many, Jimmie was known for his warm heart, infectious smile, and unwavering sense of humor. He loved attending sporting events, enjoyed golfing, and remained active throughout his life. Even to the very end, Jimmie was a true character — always making others laugh, always bringing joy into every room he entered. His smile and laughter were reflections of the joy he carried in his heart.
Jimmie trusted in his faith and his family finds comfort knowing he has been welcomed home into the loving arms of Jesus. His legacy of faith, service, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
