JOE REED “Bunk” SMITH, 83, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away November 4, 2014. He was born June 26, 1931 in Mt. Olive, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Mary R. Smith, his wife of 58 years, Betty Curbo Smith and his two sons, Dwayne and Hunter Smith. He is survived by his cousin, Liz Yates Lott (Denison) and nieces and nephews. He served his country in the Marines during the Korean War and was in management at AT&T. He was a member and a deacon at Central Church. A gathering of friends will be held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS with the service following at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery on Holmes Rd.
