
John Edward "Eddie" Brunzo Jr., age 86, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025. John was born August 22, 1939 in Camden, Arkansas to Mary Alice Brunzo and John Edward Brunzo, Sr. He grew up in North Little Rock where he worked at an early age delivering newspapers by bicycle. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1957. John joined the U.S. Air Force in 1960 where he was a telecommunications operator. He married Amogie Brunzo and together had two daughters. After leaving the military, he went to work for Bank of America. John later started his own independent trucking agency. After selling his the agency, John married Carol in 1991 and worked as a dispatcher and terminal manager for Triple G. He retired in 2005. He was a self-taught computer guru and a frugal financial wizard. John loved his family and he loved Jesus. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan. He enjoyed anything with peanut butter, Tootsie-Rolls, and Mexican food.
John is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol; daughters, Tammy Brunzo and Pam Lyles (Danny); son, Kevin Voyles (Mary); grandchildren, Amanda, Charles, John, Dillon, Dustin, and Sam; great-grandchildren, Dominick, Brooklyn, Zachariah, Zakaria, Roman, Zander, Baylor, Bella, Sutton, Danny, Asa, Ellis, Hutson, Mason, and Winter. John was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joanne Ferguson.
The family will receive friends at visitation on Friday, October 10 from 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM, at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum Street, Olive Branch, MS 38654. A private interment will occur at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN 38125.
