John Homer Curbo, 74, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 surrounded by his family in Olive Branch, MS. Born to the late Homer and Connie Curbo, Johnny started working for his uncles, Lawrence and Robert Curbo in the mid-60s while he attended University of Memphis (then Memphis State). He continued to work at Curbo & Curbo until they sold the firm and then became the Controller for Mid-South Milling. After a stint in private accounting, Johnny opened his own CPA firm. He was an active member of the Olive Branch Planning Commission. Johnny is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sandra Curbo; his mother, Connie Curbo; three daughters, Dana Peirce (Craig), LeeAnn Curbo, Robin Rundlett (Rich); two sons, John Curbo and Jeff Gentry; two brothers, David Curbo (Becky) and Bruce Curbo (Robbie). He also leaves behind two granddaughters, Hannah Peirce, and Maddie Rundlett, and two grandsons, Jacob Peirce, Weston Rundlett. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Johnny was truly a remarkable man, the many times he came to his land on Duck River in Waverly was always an adventure for me. The timber frame barn he designed and built will stand for years and will always be a lasting memory to his legacy. A true southern gentleman and will be sadly missed.
