

John R. Hatcher July 28,1949 to December 4,2014, a resident of Olive Branch, MS passed away unexpectedly at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch after a short illness. John was born in Garrett, Indiana and had lived in Indiana, Texas, New York, Japan, North Carolina, Tennessee and enjoyed extended residential stays in Italy and France before settling in Olive Branch.
He was the third of six children born to the late James Lynn and Rowena Michael-Hatcher of Logansport, Indiana and was the beloved, long-time loving companion of Cynthia Armistead. John will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Kathleen, and treasured grandchildren Charlotte Ann and Emily Claire along with friends and family.
John was a veteran of the USAF, seeing service throughout the Southeast Asia theater during the Viet Nam War Era with the 18th Tactical Fighter Wing of the 313th Air Division-5th Air Force and was awarded several commendations for Distinguished Service.
John is preceded in death by both parents James & Rowena, sisters Catherine and Elizabeth and is survived by brothers James, Joseph, and sister, Mary.
John was a life-long Roman Catholic of the Tridentine Rite and loved reading the history of the Roman Church and had visited the Vatican on numerous occasions. He was passionate about Irish mystery writers, his family, as well as his many canine companions. John positively touched the lives of many people throughout the world through his four decades of international travels providing development and training seminars. John's career was marked by an inquisitive mind, an engaging smile and trademark sense of humor.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass service on Monday, December 15, at 10:00a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 8455 Germantown Road Olive Branch, MS 38654.
