

John David Inman, 86, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026. He was born on November 2, 1939, in Hardy, Mississippi, to the late James Elmer Inman, Sr. and Ruth Tilghman Inman.
John proudly served his country, spending seven years in the United States Air Force and 22 years in the Army National Guard. Following his military service, he continued his career in civil service, where he worked as a mechanic specializing in tanks and helicopters.
John was a true outdoorsman who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved camping, fishing, and woodworking. In his quiet moments, he could often be found watching Gunsmoke and enjoying one of his favorite snacks—bananas. He was a hardworking and dependable man who took pride in his family, his service to his country, and the life he built.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings, Lee Inman, Billy Inman, Andy Inman, Anne Landon, and J.E. Inman.
John leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 20 years, Connie Inman; his son, Dave Inman (Sandy); his daughter, Laura Beth Inman Alford (Dustin); five grandchildren; and his brother, Bud Inman. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at The Outpouring Church, 6400 Blocker St., Olive Branch, Mississippi. A memorial service celebrating John's life will begin at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Outpouring Church.
John's life was one of service, family, hard work, and simple joys. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
