Joyce Faye Smith

Joyce Faye Smith, 76, of Independence, MS went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2025. Joyce was born on December 13, 1948, in West Point, MS. She worked for many years as a receptionist for Memphis Children’s Clinic until her retirement. In her free time, she loved listening to music and being outside. Spending time with her family and being “Granny” to her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys in life. Joyce was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Mt. Manna Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loy Smith; grandson, Alex Smith; mother, Ethel Thomas Ricks; and father, Jesse James Golden. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Smith (Cathy); son, Ricky Smith (Heather); daughter, Susie Davis (Mike); grandchildren: Miranda Davis, Lizzy Pullam, Emily Gillo, Adam Smith, and Mac Smith; great-grandson, Lincoln Pullam; and siblings: Carolyn McKinney, Larry Golden (Anita), and Debbie Hubbard. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home of Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 12-1 pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
