J.T. Howard, 77, of Byhalia, MS passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Howard; father, John Howard; mother, Vernon Greathouse; brother, Benny Howard; and sisters, Josephine Wright and Delsie Cole. He is survived by his children: John Howard(Jonette), Sam Howard(Phoebe), Jerry Howard(Rosemary), Pam New(Jimmy), and Kim Austin(Darrell); 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, James Howard; and sisters, Sandy Cole and Janet Allen. Mr. Howard was a hardworking man his whole life. He worked as a maintenance manager for 20 years at Ezon. He also worked as a machinist and mechanic. Outside his professional work, he was not a man who liked to sit still. He was an outdoorsman and liked to hunt, fish, garden, and raise farm animals. He also like horses and horse shoeing. He also enjoyed dirt track and NASCAR racing. His biggest passion was his family and he enjoyed spending time with them more than anything. Mr. Howard was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Covenant Fellowship. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 5-7 pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm, also at Brantley Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Byhalia Cemetery.
