Kaliska Moore-Richmond, born on May 4, 1990, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS, lived a remarkable life as a devoted daughter, loving wife, nurturing mother, and cherished sister. Her journey was marked by unwavering resilience in the face of a relentless battle against metastatic breast cancer.
Kaliska's early years were rooted in Laws Hill, MS, where she embraced her formative experiences before eventually making her home in Byhalia, MS. She graduated from Byhalia High School in the class of 2008 and later pursued her passion for healthcare by attending Concorde Career College in 2011, where she earned her medical certification.
On September 11, 2023, Kaliska departed this earthly realm, but it would be inaccurate to say she lost her battle with cancer, for she never ceased to fight with incredible determination. Even in her most challenging moments, she consistently sought the silver lining in every situation, her infectious smile, laughter, and unwavering courage leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Kaliska's remarkable spirit and resilience served as a shining example of perseverance. She was not only a beloved wife to her husband Brandon but also a devoted mother to four wonderful children: Kiersten (14), Gabriel (10), Aidan (6), and Nadia (6). Her legacy is further enriched by her parents, Clayton and Alice Moore, of Byhalia, MS, and her brother Kyrie (Shunda) Moore, of Fort Worth, TX. In addition, Kaliska leaves behind four nephews, one niece, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In celebrating Kaliska's life, we honor her profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her and the enduring legacy of strength, courage, and positivity she leaves behind.
A memorial service for Kaliska will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum Street, Olive Branch, MS 38654, followed by a visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
