

Karen Ray Kimbriel, 67, of Nesbit, MS went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2025. Karen was born on February 25, 1958, in Oceanside, CA to the late Wesley Hardy Ray and Althea Lorraine Larson Ray. She is a 1976 graduate of Marshall Academy. After high school she studied education at Mississippi State University then transferred to Delta State where she graduated in 1981. Karen spent her career as a special education teacher. In her free time, she enjoyed keeping her house clean, sewing, and helping anyone in need. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman with a servant’s heart. Karen was also the glue that held her family together. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and was an active member of Blaine Community Church where she played the piano for many years. Karen is survived by her husband of 46 years, Stephen Craig Kimbriel, Sr.; son, Stephen Craig Kimbriel, Jr. (Jennifer); daughter, Kelly Gumban (Edgar); grandchildren: Sawyer Kimbriel, Swayze Kimbriel, and Theodore Gumban; sister, Judy Buchanan (Mack); brother, Tommy Ray (Alice); sister, Pam Daniels (Larry); brother, Johnny Ray (Leah); and her mother-in-law, Aythel Kimbriel. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Slayden Cemetery.
