Kathryn Wright Lyon

Kathy was born August 12, 1952, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, to Edwin and Mary Jane Wright. At the age of nine, she moved to Memphis, where she grew up in Whitehaven and graduated from Whitehaven High School.

She loved her time at the Bay with family and always cherished those memories. Kathy enjoyed trading Louis Vuitton purses and had a passion for finding just the right ones. She also loved spending time with her brothers and sisters at Snow Lake Shores, Mississippi. But more than anything, Kathy loved being “Nana.” Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment with them. Kathy had the sweetest personality. Everyone she met was drawn to her kindness and love. She had a heart bigger than life and would do anything for anyone. To know Kathy was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Price Wright; her mother. Mary Jane Wright-Woodberry, and her daughter, Amy Carol Stewart.

She is survived by her son, Richard Lacey Stewart (Angela) of Georgia; her daughter, Mary Kathryn Hallock (Kyle) of Bartlett, TN; her siblings, Stephanie Warren (Eddie) of Snow Lake Shores, MS; Edwin Wright (Linda) of Ft. Myers, FL; and Cynthia Walker ofOlive Branch, MS.

Kathy also leaves behind her two grandchildren, Branslee, and Grayson Hallock.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life at the home of her daughter, Mary Kathryn, 8134 Short Grass Cove in Arlington, TN, on Saturday, October 25th, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Refreshments will be served as we gather to honor her memory.
