Kenneth Walker Aldridge, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Baptist Memorial in Oxford, MS. He was born to the late Victor and Ouida Aldridge on February 14, 1941. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly "June" Aldridge, a brother, Lonnie Allen Aldridge (Hisako). Kenneth and June had 3 sons, Greg (Tammy), Mark(Jan) and Eric(Kimery), 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was a man who valued and loved his family. His grandchildren were his legacy and he loved them all! Kenneth was planning a big family reunion for this past May. He desired for his grandchildren and great grandchildren to go back to his roots and know where he came from. Unfortunately his health diminished and he was unable to make it back to his birthplace of Caledonia, MS. Kenneth loved and took such great care of his wife and family. He was a great provider and made big sacrifices as a long haul truck driver for over 30 years. He was also a true sports fanatic. Baseball was his favorite sport with basketball a close 2nd. He watched every St. Louis Cardinal and Memphis Grizzlies game possible. After Kenneth retired, he and June shared their enjoyment of watching the games together. They loved playing Rook with friends and they faithfully served their church family together. They were a team!
Kenneth loved westerns and war movies and sometimes he was a little over dramatic. Things like no soft butter for pancakes or biscuits would be a catastrophe. Those closest to him knew he didn't like to wait long for anything, particularly restaurant dining. And the one thing we know he absolutely hated was sour cream. All these things made him who we love and will dearly miss.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 3:00 pm with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm at Emory Methodist Church, 872 Watson Rd. Byhalia, MS 38611. Burial will follow at Emory Cemetery.
