Larry Wayne Thomas, 76, went home to be with Lord on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Methodist Olive Branch. He was born on December 19, 1949, to Violet and Wayne Thomas in Memphis, Tn. Larry graduated from Overton High School, where he enjoyed playing football. During his high school years, he earned the honors of 1967 Player of the Week and 1967 All-Memphis Football. He went on to build a successful career in sales, where he worked for more than 30 years. Larry was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to his garden, golfing, and working out. He will be remembered for his dedication, his love of the outdoors, and the many years he devoted to his career and community. Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Leigh Thomas and his parents, Violet and Wayne Thomas. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Wanda Thomas; his grandson, Hunter Thomas; his brother, Mark Thomas (Colleen); two nephews, Grant Thomas (Miranda), and Drew Thomas. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods in Memphis, TN.
