

Mrs. Linda Kay Smith LaVigne passed away on Friday January 9, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer. Kay was born to the late William Gail, Sr. and Ruby Maddox Smith in Atmore, AL on June 22, 1949. She grew up in Atmore. She then moved to Livingston to attend college. While at college, she met the love of her life, Robert Allen LaVigne (Bob). She married Bob on August 20, 1970. She fulfilled her dreams of being a wife, mother and grandmother. Kay’s favorite things were to travel with her husband, spend time with her grandchildren, shop until she dropped and study her bible. She was blessed with many friends. Kay is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bob LaVigne, three daughters Kelley LaVigne Sturman, Lisa Ann LaVigne and Wendy Michelle LaVigne. Kay had three grandchildren, Hannah Marie, Haleigh Grace and Hunter John Sturman, whom she truly adored. She has three siblings, William Gail Smith, Jr., (Marilu), Don Alan Smith, (Laura) and Julie Smith Osenton, (Malcolm). Kay was blessed with many nieces, nephews and the extended LaVigne and Smith families. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 15 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 16 also at Brantley Funeral Home.
