Olive Branch - Lt. Col. Ret. James Smothers, 74, of Olive Branch passed away January 30, 2014. Friends will gather Saturday, February 1, from 5-7 p.m. Services will be Monday, February 3, 11 a.m. all at the Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Interment will be in Carroll Memorial Gardens in McKenzie, TN, with Military Honors. Born in Huntingdon, TN to Ivy and Hooper Smothers. Graduate of Bethel College, retired from the Army Reserve and FedEx. He was an avid Golfer with many friends at Galloway. Jim leaves four children, Kirk Smothers (Tedrah), Melissa Castleman (Eddie), Todd Smothers (Kristi) Tracie Stephens (Tim); five grandchildren, Evan, Drew, Katie, Josh, Cameron.
