Maria Isabel Pina

Maria Isabel Pina, 50, of Byhalia, MS passed away on August 17, 2026. Maria was born on May 1, 1976, in Lajoya, TX. Throughout her life, she worked in many different fields. She has been a caregiver in south Texas, a nurse for an OBGYN office in Olive Branch, MS, office personnel at the old Piggly Wiggly in Byhalia, MS, and as a translator for patients at doctor visits. She had a heart for helping people and that showed in her work. She would also go to the nursing home to help the residents by brushing their hair and painting their nails. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and making people laugh either in person or on TikTok live. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Sara Lee Russell. Maria is survived by her life partner, Jorge Pina Sanchez; sister, Blanca Lopez; two brothers, Reymundo Ruiz and Nicholas Esqueda; and her two girls, Abby Nicole Ruiz and Rebekka Renee Ruiz. Maria will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
