

Mary Ann Cooper, 78, of Byhalia, MS went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2025. Mrs. Cooper was born on July 1, 1946, in Bolivar, MS to the late Albert and Pearl Cisco. She is 1964 graduate of Oakhaven High School. After High School she went to cosmetology school to become a hairdresser. She owned Hair Parlor in Byhalia for over 40 years. Throughout her life she also worked as a real estate broker and was a master floral designer. Mrs. Cooper was very involved in the Byhalia community throughout her life. She was on the Planning Commission for the Town of Byhalia and also served as an Alderwoman. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing, boating at Pickwick, bowling, and going on cruises. Her favorite vacation spots were Cancun and Florida. Mrs. Cooper was a believer in Jesus Christ and an active member of Emory Methodist Church. Sharing her faith was important to her and she joined a group with Emory to go on a mission trip to Honduras. She also volunteered with Hearts and Hands Ministry in Byhalia. Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jackie Cooper; daughter, Denise Anglin; daughter, Renee Allen (Jesse); grandchildren: Candace Sawner (Eric), Cody Anglin (Sam), Cameron Ownes (Hank), and Michael Anglin (Ashley); step-grandchildren: Austin Allen, Justin Allen, and Colton Allen; and great-grandchildren: Caleb Sawner, T.J. Sawner, Josh Sawner, Anna Beth Anglin, Cleo Owens, and Henry Owens. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Emory Methodist Church on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 11 am until 12 noon with a funeral service to begin at noon. Burial will follow at Byhalia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her honor to Hearts and Hands Ministry in Byhalia.
