Mary Evelyn Johnson

Mary Evelyn Johnson, age 86, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Mary was born on December 11, 1938 in Barr, MS to the late Winford Powell Peyton and Inez West Peyton. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and a faithful member of Olive Branch Church of Christ. She loved her church family and friends dearly. She was very thoughtful and even after she wasn't able to get out of the house anymore, she would still send cards to her friends for different life events. Her family meant the world to her and being "Mimi" to her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Winford Lee Peyton; and a sister, Ann Dunlap. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Walter David Johnson; son, Jeff Johnson (Tami); daughter, Joy Rogge; grandchildren: Anna Caitlyn Johnson, Alleigh Johnson, and Brittany Shea Rogge; brother, Tony Peyton; and sister, Ruth Sowell. A graveside service for Mary will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Lebanon Cemetery, 8691 Bethel Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654.
