Mary Elizabeth Looney, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her home in Byhalia, MS. She was born on December 24, 1941 to the late John and Zada Weaver in Memphis, TN. Mary loved being outdoors. At any given time you would find her gardening, watching her hummingbirds or watching for a red bird, which she called her angels. Mary was a faithful member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otho Looney; her son, Gregg Steven Looney; her parents, John and Zada Weaver; three siblings, Wayne Weaver, Sara Adomie, Tonia Honeycutt, and a granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Looney. Mary leaves behind a son, Michael Looney, and two siblings, Harold Weaver and Alice Kinningham. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Michael, Rebecca, David, Daisha, Jessie, Randy, Nicole, Rachel and 18 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
