Mary Elizabeth Pennington

Mary Elizabeth Pennington, 84, of Southaven, MS was carried to the loving arms of God on July 17, 2026, after a long illness. Mary was born in Logan County, WV on June 14, 1942, the daughter of the late Arnold and Ocie Bias. She was a true believer in Jesus Christ and devoted her life to being the kind of person He wanted her to be. She was a kind and giving person who never put herself first. She was a gifted floral designer who ran her own business for several years, creating beautiful wedding arrangements for many brides-to-be. Her favorite time of year was always Christmas, and she filled her home annually with tributes to Jesus and Santa Claus. Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold Bias, JR, and Everett (Bucky) Bias, her sisters Della Coldiron and Mazie Plybon, all of Huntington, WV. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Charles Pennington of Southaven, MS, her daughters Theresa Webb of Cordova, TN, and Sandra Sheppard of Chesapeake, VA, and her son Jerry Pennington of Huntington, WV, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, her brothers Dewey Bias and Dorsey Bias, and sisters Oma Smith and Joyce Ellis all of Huntington, WV. A family memorial and celebration of Mary’s life was held at her home in Southaven. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
