Mary Nell Russell

Mary Nell Russell, 80, of Coldwater, MS, passed away Thursday July 26, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Russell was a devoted member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Coldwater, MS and loved painting and birdwatching. A selfless, Christian lady, she loved her family dearly and wanted to let everyone know about the love of Jesus. She saw good in everyone, even in instances when it was hard to see. Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her parents, A.C. and Eunice Darnell, her brothers, Charles Darnell, Mitchell Darnell, and Gerald Darnell, and one sister, Theresa Adair. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Earl Russell Jr., three children, Anthony Russell, Sandra Ferguson (Bill), and James Russell (Lauri), and her brother, Aaron Darnell (Mary Catherine). Survivors also include her grandchildren, Mandy (Dave), Brad (Ally), Jessy, Amber (Jonas), and J.D. (Liz), four great-grandchildren, Abby, Hayes, Baylee, and Cooper, and her best friend, Sue Wilkerson. The family will receive friends Sunday July 29, 2018 from 1:30pm until the funeral service begins at 2:30pm, all at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Coldwater, MS. Private interment will follow in Jamison Cemetery.
