Michael David Schoenberg, 63, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 5, 1962, in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. At the age of six, Michael was adopted by Harry and Catharine, which allowed him to travel the world from a young age. A proud patriot, Michael first served his country honorably in the United States Air Force before continuing his service in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military career, he dedicated over 40 years to working in IT security before retiring and pursuing his passion for real estate with Keller Williams. A devoted advocate for veterans, Michael founded the nonprofit Homes for Heroes and Hounds, with a mission to support fellow veterans, rescue dogs from euthanasia, and foster healing bonds between the two. He was an avid outdoorsman, a lifelong animal lover, and a loyal Pittsburgh Eagles fan. Michael was a man of deep faith and a cherished member of Gracewood Baptist Church, where he found joy singing in the choir. Michael is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon Schoenberg; his son, Corbin Schoenberg; his mother, Catharine Collins (Jack); his father, Harry Schoenberg (Dr. Dorothy Breen); step-sister, Kathy Lees (Rick), and a niece, Leah Tysse (Merrick).
