Mildred "Micki" Ilene Grant

Mildred “Micki” Ilene Grant, 72, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on October 28, 2025, surrounded by family. Micki was born on October 13, 1953, in Odessa, TX to Jim and Ella Hart. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. She worked for many years in human resources for Clopay Building Products in Hernando. She later became an assistant elementary school teacher. While working as an assistant she went back to school at Ole Miss and obtained her master’s degree in elementary education. After receiving her degree, she taught at Chickasaw Elementary in Olive Branch for many years until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her yard, updating her house, enjoying her pool, thrift shopping, and going to Tunica with her sisters when they visited. One of her greatest joys in life was being “Grandma” to her grandchildren. She never missed one of their soccer games. She also loved Christmas and spending holidays with her family. Micki was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ella Hart; and her brother, Troy Hart, all of Oklahoma. She is survived by her son, Josh Metzger and wife, Tiffany; grandchildren: Hannah, Emmye, Callaway, Peyton, and Beckham; sisters: Terry Scaffetta, Gerry Kerr, and Mary Williams of Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A celebration of life will be held at Blind Alley Bayou (23 US-51, Hernando, MS 38632) on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 6:00 pm.
