Monte Anthony Morgan

Monte Anthony Morgan, 88, of Nesbit, MS went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2025. Mr. Morgan was born on October 18, 1937, in Forrest City, AR to the late Everett Lloyd Morgan and Mary Etta Johnson Morgan. He worked for many years with FedEx until his retirement. In his younger years he helped start the Walls Volunteer Fire Department. He served as a fire fighter and ambulance driver for many years and earned the rank of Captain. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Morgan was a believer in Jesus Christ and a faithful member of Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church in Hernando, MS. His work with the church was one of his greatest joys in life. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Monte A. Morgan, II; and two brothers, Robert Morgan and Alvin Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen Hay Morgan; daughter, Sherri Watson (Gene); grandchildren: Brooks Spradling, Marcus Spradling, Derek Spradling, Blake Morgan, and Lindsey Watson; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 12-1 pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at New Bethlehem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church in Hernando, MS.
