Neal Gilchrist Letson, 86, of Southaven, MS went to be with the Lord January 9, 2024. Neal was born on May 16, 1937 in Courtland, AL as the youngest child to the late Garth and Agnes Letson. As a young child, his family moved to the Memphis area. He was a 1957 graduate of Humes High School. On June 13, 1959, he married the love of his life, Linda Jean Ray. They were married for 62 years until she passed away in 2021. After high school, he became a master electrician. In 1971, he opened Best Electric and operated the business until 2007. In 1998 he opened NGL builders and had this business for 10 years. He loved his work and was passionate about his businesses. Neal was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Southaven Church of Christ. In his free time, he loved watching SEC football, deep sea fishing, and watching little league baseball. He also loved old country music, especially Hank Williams, Sr. Neal was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ray Letson; brother, GD Letson; sisters: Mary Ruth McGee, Cleazelle Anderson, and Lanae Wallace; and son-in-law, Steve Bowers. He is survived by his daughters: Paulette Jarjoura (T.J.), Lanell Bowers, Lucinda Letson, and Heather Robinson (Brooks); grandchildren: Wesley Neal Wood, Brooks Robinson II, Amber Hogan (Aaron), Robert Letson Hodges, Cameron Robinson, Madelyn Jarjoura, Kathryn Jarjoura; and great-grandchildren, Deacon and Damon Pounders. Neal loved his family dearly and being “Big Daddy” to his grandchildren was one of his greatest joys in life. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 9-10 am with a funeral service to begin at 10:00 am. Being from Alabama, Neal would want to give everyone a final ROLL TIDE ROLL!
